How I Learn

The way I learn has changed changed markedly in my lifetime. My generation of learners selected a specialty area of interest, obtained training, mastered content, and got a job for life. I first encountered the concept of 'lifelong learning' as a faculty member at UH.

There are several ways to learn: visually, audially, kinesthetically, independently and in teams.

Lifelong learning promotes progress by embracing emerging ideas and technologies which drive our societies. Learning not only leads to progress, but it also important in maintaining physical and mental health.

We must take charge of our own learning. Though I am a product of a long, formal education, it has many problems. Learning on the job is just as rewarding and useful.
