Quinn, Eric. Say Uncle. Dutton. Aug. 1994. c.352p. ISBN 0-525-93780-3. $20.95
[FICTION]

This snappy, fast-paced novel tells the story of Michael, a gay ad executive who is unexpectedly awarded custody of his nephew, Scott, after Scott's parents die in an automobile accident. Scott's grandfather, a powerful North Carolina senator, is vehemently opposed to this arrangement and launches a public court battle. After Michael wins, the story continues to unfold, albeit now through the eyes of Scott, who grows up in the center of Michael's eccentric and madcap world. Scott watches his uncle with adoration, amusement and occasional anger. Quinn's talent for writing satirical and biting dialog is evident, so it's not surprising that the movie rights to this novel have already been optioned. Recommended for large public library collections and all gay and lesbian fiction collections.
